A 33-year-old man, Jonathan Ingram, was shot and killed by a SWAT sniper after officers responded to a home in Northwest Baltimore for a burglary that escalated into a hostage situation. Two women were inside the home, one of whom escaped on a balcony. A 36-year-old officer was shot in the leg but is expected to recover. The officer who fatally shot Ingram has been identified as Brian Loiero, a 15-year veteran of the police force assigned to SWAT.
