A security incident at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Sea-Tac) on Saturday prompted a ground stop, halting arriving flights. The issue began around 1 pm, with six planes canceled and two diverted. Approximately 260 flights were delayed as of 2 pm.
According to Alaska Airlines, a passenger made a “direct threat to the safety of the aircraft” to a flight attendant while on board Flight 2123. The suspect was taken into custody shortly after 1:30 pm by airport authorities. However, details about the security issue remain unclear.
