A man died after being sucked into a departing plane’s engine at Milan Bergamo Airport in Italy on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred as the aircraft, carrying 154 passengers and six crew members, was preparing to take off for Asturias, northwestern Spain.
According to reports, an individual ran onto the tarmac while the plane was getting ready to depart, resulting in the man’s fatal injury. Despite his death, all passengers and crew were safe and receiving psychological support from the airline.
Airport officials have launched an investigation into how the individual managed to reach the runway from outside the airport. Flights resumed shortly after the incident was reported. The cause of the tragedy is still under investigation.
