Maradona Trial Annulled Due to Judge’s Misconduct

Argentina’s trial against the seven healthcare professionals accused of negligence in Diego Maradona’s death has been annulled due to judge Julieta Makintach’s involvement in a documentary about the case. The trial began on March 11 but will have to start over again after the recent revelations. Maradona died in 2020, aged 60, following brain surgery for a blood clot. The seven members of his medical team face sentences ranging from eight to 25 years if convicted. His daughter Jana expressed her anger and frustration with the annulment, calling it “trash”. A new trial date has yet to be announced, with no new judges nominated at this time.
