Marc Blucas Shares Passion for Restoring Historic Home After Wife’s Tragic Death

Actor Marc Blucas spoke about his passion project of restoring a historic Pennsylvania home that was the site of his late wife Dayle Haddon’s death from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning.

In a 2016 interview with the Hallmark Channel, Blucas discussed the property, built in 1711, which he and his wife Ryan bought to be closer to family. He expressed enthusiasm for DIY projects and old structures, citing Pennsylvania as the only state with that type of architecture.

Blucas shared a 2021 Instagram post where he wrote about pursuing his dream of restoring the historic farmhouse. He credited Ryan for allowing him to pursue this passion project, stating it taught their kids the value of hard work, preserving historic buildings, and learning new skills.

The couple’s home was found to be at fault in Dayle Haddon’s death from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning on December 27. Her husband Walter Blucas is also being treated for exposure after being found unresponsive on the first floor.

An investigation revealed a faulty flue and exhaust pipe caused the carbon monoxide leak, emphasizing the importance of safety precautions.
