Marc Marquez secured his third consecutive Tissot Sprint win in Austin, beating Alex Marquez by less than a second to maintain his perfect victory record in 2025. Francesco Bagnaia took the bronze medal after leading on the first lap and setting up well for Sunday’s Grand Prix.
The opening lap was the best of the season, with Bagnaia taking an early lead but being reclaimed by Marc Marquez at Turn 2. However, a rear-end slide on Lap 17 nearly ended Marc Marquez’s sprint, but he recovered to retake the lead and pass both Alex Marquez and Bagnaia.
As the race progressed, Marc Marquez built a gap to Alex Marquez, reaching 0.6 seconds on Lap 3. Meanwhile, Fabio Quartararo swarmed around Bagnaia, causing him to lose touch with the top two. The battle between the VR46 Ducatis and Quartararo was intense, but ultimately couldn’t stop Marc Marquez from securing his win.
Alex Marquez continued his P2 streak, while Bagnaia secured an important P3. The result has left 2022 and 2023 MotoGP World Champion Francesco Bagnaia wanting more for Sunday’s Grand Prix despite a satisfying performance.
Other notable performances included Di Giannantonio claiming fourth, Morbidelli taking sixth, and rookie Ai Ogura securing the final Sprint point in a thrilling late battle.
