March Madness is finally here, with several high-stakes matchups taking place across college basketball. In the SEC, top-ranked Auburn dominated No. 17 Kentucky 94-78, while Tennessee’s Jahmai Mashack hit a buzzer-beater to take down No. 6 Alabama 79-76 in a thrilling matchup.
The two teams were neck-and-neck at halftime and again after a six-minute timeout, making it impossible to predict the winner before the final buzzer sounded. However, Auburn’s strong shooting from beyond the arc helped them pull away in the second half.
Meanwhile, Vanderbilt stunned No. 14 Missouri 97-93 in overtime, with guards Jason Edwards and Tyler Nickel hitting back-to-back threes in the last minute of regulation to force extra time. The Commodores then closed out the game with clutch shot-making, led by three players who finished with 17 or more points.
In another SEC matchup, No. 3 Florida easily defeated No. 12 Texas A&M 89-70, with eight of nine players scoring and 21 assists distributed among the team. The Gators’ high-powered offense was too much for the Aggies to handle, as they took on the winning margin by 19 points.
These matchups mark just a few of the many exciting games taking place in March Madness, and fans can expect more thrilling finishes and upsets throughout the tournament.
