Marjorie Taylor Greene Buys into Plummeting Stocks Amid Trump Tariffs

US Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has snapped up stocks from major brands like Lululemon, Dell Computer, Amazon, and Restoration Hardware, following market chaos caused by President Trump’s global tariffs. The Georgia congresswoman, a strong supporter of the Trump administration’s trade policies, made the purchases last week after the president announced his tariff war.

According to data from Greene’s financial holdings document, seen by AP News, she invested in these brands when their prices plummeted by around 40% on average. Since then, some of her investments have begun to pay off, with Restoration Hardware jumping over a third and Dell Computer rising 9%.

Greene claimed that she made the purchases through a fiduciary agreement with her financial advisor, allowing her to control her investments. However, some lawmakers from both parties have proposed bills banning members from stock trading due to conflicts of interest.

The sudden pause in Trump’s tariffs has raised questions about potential market manipulation or insider trading. Greene is one of the strong supporters of Trump’s trade policies and previously posted that “tariffs are a powerful proven source of leverage to protect our national interests.”
