Mark Sanchez Arrested for Allegedly Attacking Senior Citizen

Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez was arrested on misdemeanor charges after allegedly attacking a 69-year-old food delivery driver in Indianapolis. The incident occurred at Loughmiller’s Pub & Eatery, where Sanchez reportedly accosted the driver, who believed he was in danger. The driver claimed that Sanchez told him he was barred from standing in the loading dock, and that he could smell alcohol on his breath.

Sanchez allegedly responded by grabbing for a car window, which led to an altercation. According to police, the driver sprayed Sanchez with pepper spray before Sanchez pulled out a knife and struck him “two or three times.” The driver suffered a laceration on his left cheek and was taken to a different hospital than Sanchez for treatment.

The incident occurred during what police described as a physical altercation between Sanchez and the driver. The police affidavit relies on a statement from the driver, as well as security footage from the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown.

Sanchez has been charged with battery with injury, public intoxication, and unlawful entry of a vehicle. He is currently being held on $300 bond and will face an initial hearing next week.

Fox Sports commentators Charissa Thompson and Curt Menefee initially released statements that only mentioned Sanchez’s arrest and offered thoughts and prayers for him and those involved. However, the network faced backlash online after critics pointed out that the comments omitted any mention of the driver or Sanchez’s alleged role in the altercation.
