Mark Sanchez, a former NFL star, was involved in a violent encounter with his alleged victim, Perry Tole. Surveillance footage shows Sanchez’s 20-minute rampage through downtown Indianapolis before the attack.
The timeline of events starts at 12:05 AM when Tole arrives at the scene in his service truck. Seven minutes later, Sanchez walks out of an alley, stumbling slightly. He seems disheveled and unagitated, but still walking towards the alley around 12:14 AM.
Sanchez then pauses outside the alley, seemingly indecisive, before returning to it about 90 seconds later. When he does enter the alley, he approaches Tole’s truck, despite not going down the alley itself. He waits for a bit, then starts jogging towards Tole’s location until out of camera view.
This is where Sanchez allegedly attacks Tole, prompting pepper spray and self-defense from the victim. The attack is believed to have occurred between 12:25 AM and 12:30 AM.
After the altercation, Sanchez flees the scene, running out of the alley at a moderate pace with visible injuries. He’s later joined by police and medical responders at around 12:47 AM, when Tole is wheeled away on a gurney.
Sanchez has been charged with felony battery involving serious bodily injury, as well as three misdemeanors, and faces up to six years in prison if convicted.
