The final trading day of 2024 is today, with investors hoping the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 end their worst month since April on a high note. US stock futures are pointing higher, as investors prepare to take a break from trading with the New Year’s Day holiday on Wednesday.
Tesla shares are moving higher in premarket trading after a 10% decline over the past three sessions ahead of its quarterly deliveries report. Boeing shares are also edging higher, recovering from Monday’s decline following the deadly Jeju Air crash.
Markets will close early at 2 p.m. ET today, and resume normal trading hours on Thursday for the first trading session of 2025. Investors are watching the release of the S&P Case-Shiller Home Price Index for October, which is scheduled for 9 a.m. ET.
