The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.3% early Monday as investors awaited President Donald Trump’s latest round of tariffs. In the pre-market, Tesla fell sharply, while McDonald’s rallied on its earnings report.
Later in the day, Nvidia stock surged to a critical level after Fed Chairman Jerome Powell’s testimony, helping boost the Dow Jones Industrial Average higher. The S&P 500 and other major indexes also followed suit.
However, not all companies were fortunate. Rivian stock faced questions about its buy or sell status ahead of Q4 earnings, while Tesla stock was under scrutiny for its recent decline amid speculation over price target cuts.
