Marlins Stun Yankees with Comeback Win

In an electrifying game, the Miami Marlins staged an improbable comeback to beat the New York Yankees 13-12 on Friday night. Xavier Edwards sparked the rally with a tying two-run single in the ninth inning, which he followed by racing home with the winning run on Agustin Ramirez’s chopper.

The Marlins had trailed 9-4 early but mounted a six-run seventh-inning surge, capped off by Kyle Stowers’ grand slam and Javier Sanoja’s solo homer. The Yankees, who had won 79 straight games when scoring 10-plus runs, were stunned by the Marlins’ resilience.

Giancarlo Stanton and Trent Grisham both hit three-run homers for the Yankees before Anthony Volpe tied the game at 10 with a leadoff home run in the eighth inning. However, Edwards’ single off Camilo Doval scored the tying run, and Ramirez’s go-ahead single sealed the win.

The Marlins’ rally was made possible by an error from Jose Caballero in right field and strong performances from Kyle Stowers and Javier Sanoja. The game marked a significant upset for the Marlins, who had been struggling at home against the Yankees.
