Marvel, DC Studios, and Dune Unite for 2024 Golden Globe Nominations

Several highly anticipated projects from Marvel, DC Studios, and the Dune universe snagged Golden Globe nominations in a year marked by unusual storytelling.

Cristina Milioti and Colin Farrell received nominations for Best Performance by a Male Actor and Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Limited Series, respectively, for their roles in The Penguin. Sofia Gigante’s portrayal of gaslighting and Oz Cobb’s character as an overall “piece of shit” could potentially secure DC Studios its biggest win in years.

Marvel Studios scored two rare Golden Globe notations with Agatha All Along and Deadpool & Wolverine, earning Kathryn Hahn a nomination for Best Performance By A Female Actor In television Series – Musical or Comedy. The sequel to Deadpool 2 also received a nod for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.

Denis Villeneuve’s Dune universe continued its winning streak with nominations for Best Motion Picture — Drama and Best Original Score for Dune: Part Two. Although Villeneuve didn’t secure a second consecutive Best Director nomination, this marks the second time the franchise has produced a Best Motion Picture win.

The 2025 Golden Globes will take place on January 5 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS, and it remains to be seen whether these nominations translate to gold wins.
