Marvel Rivals Eyes Nintendo Switch 2 Release After Successful PS5, Xbox Series Launches

Marvel Rivals, the popular hero shooter, is enjoying massive success on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. However, its developer NetEase has maintained that it will not be released on the Nintendo Switch initially due to performance concerns with the first-generation device.

But what about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2? During a recent interview at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas, Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu revealed that the company is already in contact with Nintendo and working on development kits for the new console. Wu stated that if the Switch 2 can provide great performance for their game, they are open to releasing it.

Wu’s comment suggests that the Switch 2’s mouse-like controller functionality could be a major factor in enticing NetEase to bring Marvel Rivals to the platform. The new console is expected to offer significant upgrades over its predecessor, making it a more viable option for demanding games like Marvel Rivals.

Although no release date has been confirmed, a Nintendo Direct event is scheduled for April 2, providing fans with an update on the Switch 2’s capabilities. Marvel Rivals is currently available on other platforms and received an 8/10 review, praising its strong position in the hero shooter genre.

With the latest heroes joining the game, including The Human Torch and The Thing, fans are eagerly awaiting news of a potential Switch 2 release. Will NetEase take Wu’s words to heart and bring Marvel Rivals to Nintendo Switch 2? Only time will tell.
