Marvel Rivals’ triple-support meta has been a dominant force in the game, but the developers are taking steps to balance it out. According to lead combat designer Zhiyong, the triple-Strategist lineup has gained popularity among top players, leading to some “oppressive moments” in the game. To address this, the devs will be implementing nerfs to certain Strategist ultimates, including Cloak & Dagger, while reducing ultimate energy costs for Vanguards and Duelists like Venom and Magik.
The goal is not to eliminate the triple-Strategist playstyle entirely but to add more options for fun counterplays and increase excitement. The developers aim to be more reactive to balance issues in the future, with larger patches planned for each half-season mark and smaller adjustments for urgent issues. This move comes as the game’s mid-season rank reset has been pushed back, and NetEase Games is now giving players more time to grab the free Invisible Woman skin.
NetEase Games’ recent announcement shows that they are committed to making Marvel Rivals a more enjoyable experience for all players, with ongoing balance changes aimed at promoting a healthier competitive scene.
