Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is being cautious with his back injury, which has been described as an aggravated disc. Despite receiving epidurals to aid in recovery, Stafford has not participated in team drills during training camp. The team plans for him to be ready for Week 1 of the regular season, but Rams head coach Sean McVay has downplayed the severity of the injury. With Jimmy Garoppolo as the backup, Stafford’s progress will be closely monitored ahead of the Sept. 7 home opener against the Houston Texans.
