The Dallas Mavericks have acquired Caleb Martin from the Philadelphia 76ers in a trade that sends Quentin Grimes back to the Eastern Conference. The deal also includes a 2025 second-round pick. This move comes three days after the Mavericks traded Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis.
Martin, who has been out since January with injuries, was looking to chase a championship with the 76ers and Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Paul George. He averaged 9.1 points and 4.4 rebounds in 31 games this season. The Mavericks will add Martin’s scoring ability after he joined the team in an offseason trade from Detroit.
Grimes, who started 12 games for the Mavericks, averaged 10.2 points in 47 games. The move marks a significant change in the Mavericks’ lineup and comes as the team looks to bolster their pairing of Doncic and Kyrie Irving.
