McDonald’s Lowers Combo Meal Prices to Attract Budget-Conscious Shoppers

McDonald’s has announced a price cut for its combo meals as part of a strategy to win back budget-conscious shoppers. The chain will lower the cost of eight popular combo meals by 15% compared to buying individual items separately. This move aims to revive McDonald’s image as an affordable option, especially at a time when consumers are closely watching their wallets.

The company has been working on revamping its value proposition and rejuvenating traffic among budget-conscious customers. To achieve this, McDonald’s recently introduced the “McValue” menu category, which offers customers a “Buy One, Add One for $1” option across breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The company also launched app-specific deals to drive customers to its platform, such as free medium fries with a $1 purchase every Friday in 2025.

Additionally, local franchisees are launching their own special deals on items like the McGriddle and app-exclusive offers like 20% off purchases over $10. McDonald’s has also addressed concerns about price increases by stating that high-priced burgers exist but are exceptions to the norm, not the rule.

The company aims to boost its value proposition through these efforts. In January, it began rolling out the McValue menu category and launched app-specific deals to drive customer engagement. This move is part of McDonald’s comeback strategy aimed at rejuvenating traffic among budget-conscious consumers.
