McLaren Unveils 2025 Car, Sets Sights on Title Win

McLaren has become the first Formula 1 team to unveil its 2025 car, the MCL39, which made its debut at Silverstone Circuit. The team is using a filming day to showcase the new car before revealing its design next week.

Driver Lando Norris was the first to take the MCL39 out on track on Thursday morning, with Oscar Piastri set to drive it later in the day. Team principal Andrea Stella and director Zak Brown are optimistic about the team’s chances for the 2025 season, which they aim to win both the drivers’ and constructors’ championships.

Stella notes that last year’s championship success was overshadowed by a highly competitive grid, and he expects this year’s title fight to be even closer. However, he believes McLaren’s experience from last season will help them remain competitive.

“We’ve worked extremely hard to prepare for the start of the season,” Stella said. “We learned a lot from our battles last year and are now using that knowledge to push our goal for the year.” Brown is similarly confident, saying, “We’ll be giving it our all to bring both championships back to Woking.”

The team’s focus now shifts to maximizing their testing time before the first competitive session in Australia. With the MCL39 making its debut at Silverstone, McLaren is ready to take on the highly competitive 2025 season.
