Measles Outbreak Linked to Local Christian Camp

A suspected measles case has been confirmed in a child who attended the Cornerstone Community Church Vacation Bible school in Billings. The child, who recently traveled with family to an area with measles outbreaks, developed symptoms including fever, runny nose, and rash after returning home. Over 80 people may have been exposed to the virus at the event.

The child is currently following Montana’s 21-day quarantine guidelines, and medical providers are awaiting lab results from a throat swab and blood sample sent to the state laboratory for confirmation. The case marks the first presumed measles outbreak in Billings, highlighting the need for vigilance in preventing the spread of infectious diseases.
