The state health officials in Oklahoma and Texas have released updates on the ongoing measles outbreak. In Oklahoma, there has been no new cases reported since May 1, maintaining a positive trend of zero new cases for the Sooner State. The total number of cases remains at 17.
In contrast, Texas has seen an increase in confirmed cases, with a total of 728 cases now reported across the state. This is six more cases than were previously announced. The majority of cases in both Oklahoma and Texas have been attributed to individuals with either unvaccinated or unknown vaccination status, accounting for nearly 95 percent of all cases.
Health officials in both states will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.
