Meet Mirumi, The Mysterious Purse Robot That’ll Steal Your Heart

Yukai Engineering, the creators of the infamous Amagami Ham Ham robot, has unveiled its latest innovation – Mirumi. This adorable furball of a robot attaches to a purse and follows in the footsteps of its predecessors with a unique blend of motion sensing technology and baby-like expressions. The company drew inspiration from infants and the concept of Yokai, mischievous supernatural spirits found in Japanese folklore.

Mirumi scans its surroundings using a combination of movement and proximity sensing, as well as the bag it’s attached to. It responds to various modes, including Curiosity (looking around when the bag moves), Inquisitiveness (turning towards people or objects), Bashfulness and Cautiousness (hiding its face upon sudden appearance or tap), Rejection (shaking its head to say no to jiggling), and Comfort (smiling again after uninterrupted time).

Mirumi is designed to mimic the joyful experiences of interacting with a human baby, complete with expressive movements and emotions. The company’s “Make-a-Thon” concept played a crucial role in bringing this product to life, as it aimed to re-create people’s delighted moments when noticing an infant’s interaction.

With its enchanting features and innovative design, Mirumi is set to captivate audiences at CES 2025, just like its predecessors have done. This unique robot is sure to steal hearts with its endearing expressions and captivating behavior.
