Rapper Megan Thee Stallion is seeking a restraining order against Tory Lanez, who is serving a 10-year sentence for shooting her in 2020. Her lawyers claim that Lanez has been waging a “campaign of harassment” from prison by employing bloggers to spread false statements about her online.
Lanez’s lawyers had also claimed that his legal rights were violated before a documentary on Megan Thee Stallion was set to premiere, leading to emotional distress and harm to her reputation. In court papers, the lawyers pointed to a blogger who published false statements about Megan Thee Stallion and accused Lanez of spreading rumors about the integrity of the trial.
Lanez was convicted in 2022 of shooting Megan Thee Stallion twice in the feet after an argument two years earlier. He is currently serving his 10-year sentence, which has polarized the music world and sparked discussions about violence against Black women.
