Meghan Markle Accused of Insensitivity Over Paris Video

Meghan Markle was accused of insensitivity by a British tabloid after posting a video on her car’s back seat that showed the Pont Alexandre III bridge in Paris, where Princess Diana died in 1997. The Duchess of Sussex claimed she didn’t know the underpass was nearby and pointed to the role the British tabloids played in Diana’s death. Harry is currently suing the Daily Mail for alleged historic phone hacking.

Critics accused Meghan of insensitivity, but a source close to her said it was “a bit rich” for the Daily Mail to criticize her for something they had done before. The source pointed out that Harry is suing the newspaper and that the video was just an innocent moment captured by Meghan’s car camera.

Meghan’s Instagram post was seen by over 542,000 people and sparked controversy on social media. However, a royal commentator said it was “just a really innocent, nice moment” that was being criticized unfairly.

The incident comes as Harry is set to go to trial in January for allegations of historic phone hacking against the Daily Mail. The newspaper denies the allegations and says they have been working to improve their reporting practices.
