Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has reactivated her Instagram account after a nearly four-year hiatus. The 43-year-old royal posted a short video on January 1, showcasing her private life and drawing in thousands of new followers.
Markle was last active on the platform in 2020, around the time she and Prince Harry announced their decision to step back from senior royal responsibilities. The video, captured by Prince Harry, shows Markle running down a beach near her home in Montecito, California, wearing a white linen shirt and pants.
The post garnered more than 400,000 followers within hours of its release, marking a significant milestone for the Duchess’s reactivated account.
This comes after speculation surrounding the couple’s marriage, which Prince Harry recently addressed in an interview. When asked about rumors that had circulated about his relationship with his wife, including claims they had divorced multiple times, Prince Harry quipped, “Apparently we’ve bought or moved houses 10, 12 times… and apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well.”
Despite the attention surrounding their marriage, Prince Harry expressed empathy for those who get caught up in rumors and speculation.
