Meta, the $1.8 trillion tech giant, is actively hiring entry-level candidates for full-stack software engineer and multiple product software engineer roles. The company is willing to pay competitive salaries ranging from $176,000 to $290,000 annually, alongside other perks like bonuses, equity, and benefits.

To qualify for these roles, candidates need a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as computer science or applied sciences. Top candidates should also have completed a university-level course, internship, thesis, or 12 months of work experience in skills like PHP, C++, Python, or large-scale storage infrastructure.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg emphasizes that he looks for job candidates who can master a skill and apply it across business areas at the company. He believes that having shown ability to learn something and take it to an excellent level is more important than a degree.

This move by Meta comes as a welcome addition to a bleak entry-level job market, where AI automation has hit many professions hard. Recent graduates are struggling to find six-figure salaries after college, and tech companies have been shedding young staffers across the board.
