Metal Contamination Found in Nationwide Pork Product Recall

A public health alert and recall was issued for pork products sold at major grocery stores nationwide due to possible metal contamination. The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) initiated the recall after discovering a broken machine during routine checks, which may have introduced metal fragments into the meat.

The affected product is “16-oz. sleeved tray packages” containing Pork Carnitas SEASONS & SEARED PORK WITH JUICES SLOW COOKED WITH CITRUS with specific ‘USE BY’ dates. Consumers are advised to discard or return these products to their place of purchase, as no injuries have been reported and the product is no longer for sale.
