Metallica’s Helping Hands Benefit Concert Raises Tens of Thousands for Charity

Metallica recently concluded their 2024 live activities with a special benefit concert for their All Within My Hands foundation in California. The “Helping Hands” concert series, which started in 2018, aims to support communities that have supported the band over the years and encourage fan participation.

The bi-annual event took place at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, CA, with Jimmy Kimmel as the host and special guests including Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani, Kenny Aronoff, and classically-trained siblings SistaStrings. The concert featured a mix of deep cuts from Metallica’s back catalog, including the rare “Low Man’s Lyric” performed live for the first time since 1998.

The band’s electric set included tracks from their iconic albums Kill ‘Em All, Master of Puppets, and …And Justice for All. The concert also featured a special performance with Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament, who joined the stage to play “Hit the Lights”.

The event raised tens of thousands of dollars for charity, following in the footsteps of previous successful concerts that have generated over $1.3 million and $3 million in donations.

The full concert will be available on YouTube starting December 19, providing fans with another opportunity to support a great cause while enjoying some amazing music.
