Micah Parsons Hopes for Full Roster Return and Coach Mike McCarthy’s Extension

Micah Parsons, the All-Pro pass rusher, wants to see the Dallas Cowboys return all their key contributors, including coach Mike McCarthy, for 2025. In an interview with ESPN, Parsons expressed his desire to have everyone back, particularly Martin and DeMarcus Lawrence, who were both injured and had a disappointing season.

Parsons has a good relationship with Coach McCarthy, but he’s unsure about the business side of things, given owner Jerry Jones’ influence on personnel decisions. Despite this, Parsons believes in McCarthy and wants him to return as head coach.

The Cowboys are prioritizing Parsons for re-signing after investing in quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb with high salaries. Parsons is under contract for 2025 but thinks it’s easier said than done due to the team’s complicated business side.

When asked if becoming the highest-paid defensive player matters, Parsons replied that he doesn’t know, as his priority is creating a strong foundation with his teammates and continuing their success. The Cowboys will have to navigate Prescott’s high salary cap figure while restructuring contracts to create room for re-signing key players like Parsons.
