NFL pass rusher Micah Parsons has requested a trade from the Dallas Cowboys, citing a breakdown in contract extension talks. In a statement on social media platform X, Parsons said he has submitted his request to team owner Stephen Jones personally. Parsons stated that he had previously spoken with Jerry Jones about his desire for a new deal but was told the team believed it already had an agreement.
Parsons claimed that when his agent attempted to negotiate a contract extension, the Cowboys declined to engage, leading to a tense standoff. The pass rusher, who is in the final year of his rookie deal and is annually among the NFL’s top defensive players, wants a more transparent negotiation process with his representative present.
The Cowboys have refused to discuss Parsons’ request with his agent, fueling speculation that some teams may still be interested in acquiring him. According to league sources, the team does not plan to trade Parsons but other clubs may pursue him.
