Michigan Extends Head Coach Dusty May’s Contract

Michigan State University (MSU) and the University of Michigan have agreed on a new multi-year contract extension for head coach Dusty May, according to a statement released by Warde Manuel. The deal was finalized after weeks of negotiations, with terms not disclosed.

May has led the Wolverines to an impressive 20-5 record in his first season as head coach, surpassing last year’s 8-25 performance. His team is now at 12-2 in Big Ten conference play. As a result, May is considered one of the top candidates for this year’s Naismith Men’s Coach of the Year award. He has been linked to the coaching vacancy at Indiana University.

May expressed his gratitude towards President Santa Ono and the Michigan Board of Regents, saying he aims to bring continued success to the historic program with the help of his staff and players. With his family being an integral part of the university community, May looks forward to staying in Ann Arbor for many years.

MSU Week Flash Sale is currently offering a year’s membership for $20 to celebrate Michigan’s turnaround. This limited-time promotion includes comprehensive coverage of the Wolverines’ basketball games.
