Michigan Football Prospects Shine in NFL Combine Invitees

The University of Michigan football team has a strong presence at this year’s NFL Scouting Combine, with nine players invited to participate. Among them are four who are widely expected to be first-round picks. Mason Graham, a unanimous All-American, is projected as the fifth overall pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fellow cornerback Will Johnson, also an All-American, is seen as a lock for the top 10 and has been mocked at times to go to the New York Jets or Indianapolis Colts.

Tight end Colston Loveland, who played under former Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, is expected to be taken in the first round, with CBS Sports projecting him to the Los Angeles Chargers at No. 18. Defensive tackle Kenneth Grant is also expected to go early, with NFL.com predicting a No. 22 pick to the Arizona Cardinals.

Running back Josaiah Stewart and wide receiver Kalel Mullings are seen as mid-round picks, while Donovan Edwards projects as a day three pick or un-drafted free agent. Offense tackle Myles Hinton and long snapper William Wagner are expected to sign as undrafted free agents. The Wolverines’ strong showing at the combine is a promising sign for the program’s future in the NFL.
