Michigan State Beats Bryant 87-62 to Advance in NCAA Tournament

Michigan State’s basketball team put aside early nerves and emerged victorious against Bryant, 87-62, in the NCAA tournament on Friday night. The Spartans found their rhythm in the second half, with guards Jaden Akins, Jeremy Fears, Jase Richardson, Tre Holloman, and Coen Carr leading the charge.

Coen Carr was instrumental in the game, outscoring his opponents and grabbing key rebounds. His athleticism and versatility on both ends of the court made him a crucial factor in MSU’s success. Carr finished with 18 points and nine rebounds, including several important plays that helped MSU take control of the game.

The turning point came when Michigan State began dominating the offensive glass in the second half. The Spartans grabbed 16 offensive rebounds to Bryant’s four, leading to a significant increase in second-chance points. This newfound ability to secure rebounds and score on put-backs was a key factor in MSU’s victory.

Coach Graham Couch noted that this season’s team has an answer for most puzzles, with Coen Carr being a prime example of that. The Spartans will look to build on this momentum as they move forward in the tournament, facing off against New Mexico on Sunday night.
