Microsoft has identified the cause of its outage affecting Microsoft 365, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams. The tech giant is rolling out a fix to resolve the issue, which started causing problems around 8 AM ET on November 25.
According to reports from DownDetector, users began experiencing issues with Exchange Online and Microsoft Teams calendar functionality at around 9:06 AM ET. Microsoft confirmed the outage and stated that it was investigating the cause of the problem.
The company later mitigated the issue after identifying a fix, but the rollout has been slower than anticipated for some affected users. However, reports of outages on DownDetector have begun to dip as of 2:57 PM ET.
As of 11:51 PM ET, Microsoft reported that its patch had reached approximately 98% of the affected environments. The company is working to provide relief and has shared more details in the admin center under MO941162.
Microsoft’s recovery efforts are facing delays, but it continues to work towards resolving the issue as soon as possible.
