Microsoft Adds Improvements to Windows 11 Click to Do and Taskbar Animations

Microsoft has released two new builds for Windows 11 Insiders this week, bringing improvements and features to the Dev and Beta Channels. The updates include enhancements to Click to Do, tidier context menus, taskbar animations, and more.

In the Click to Do app, users can now select items on the screen using freeform, rectangle, or Ctrl + Click options. These new toggles are available on the Click to Do panel at the top of the screen. Additionally, Microsoft has resolved an issue with the “Open with” submenu in context menus, making it look better and easier to use.

The taskbar now displays animations when moving between app groups and their thumbnails. This feature adds a touch of visual flair to the Windows 11 experience.

The latest build also includes fixes for various issues, including problems with the start menu, file explorer, login and lock screen, live captions, and other features. These fixes aim to improve reliability and stability in the operating system.

However, some Insiders may still encounter issues, such as a rollback trying to install the update, or problems with Visual Studio crashing on Arm64 PCs when running certain scenarios. Microsoft is working on fixes for these issues.

In other news, Windows Insiders in the EEA may experience an issue with Recall not working correctly after recent Dev and Beta Channel flights. To resolve this issue, users can reset Recall by going to Settings > Privacy & security > Recall & snapshots > Advanced settings > Reset Recall and clicking “Reset Recall”.

Overall, these new builds bring several improvements and fixes to Windows 11, aiming to enhance the user experience and address some of the operating system’s quirks.
