Microsoft is expanding its partnership with the National Football League (NFL) by introducing AI-powered tools to improve decision-making during games. The technology, including Copilot and Azure AI, will aid offensive and defensive playcallers in making smarter, faster decisions in real-time. This move follows a collaboration between Microsoft and the NFL, which also includes distributing Surface Copilot+ PCs to players and coaches.
NFL Chief Information Officer Gary Brantley sees this as a new era of innovation for the league, emphasizing that improving capabilities is a serious responsibility. Coaches like Sean McVay believe the technology can reduce distractions and lead to better decisions under pressure. The AI tools will also be used off-field, helping players and coaches review playbooks, study game footage, and prepare for upcoming matchups.
Analysts have given Microsoft’s stock (MSFT) a Strong Buy consensus rating based on 32 Buys and one Hold in the last three months, with an average price target of $624.08 per share implying 23.2% upside potential.
