Microsoft Employee Salaries Revealed: Top Developers Earn Up to $600,000 Per Year

Microsoft, the world’s largest technology company, employs over 220,000 people, but what do these employees really earn? A leaked internal document has revealed the salaries of 850 Microsoft employees, providing a glimpse into the lucrative compensation packages for top developers.

According to the document, Microsoft devs can earn significant salaries, with the highest levels ranging from $217,600 to $269,000 per year. After bonuses and stock awards, some top developers could receive between $500,000 and $600,000 annually. However, it’s essential to note that only a small portion of the workforce is represented in these numbers.

Salaries vary by area, with those in the “Experiences and Devices” division earning the lowest, while Cloud and AI developers earn more. The Xbox and Commerce divisions have the highest salaries. Even top Microsoft executives are relatively underpaid compared to their US developer counterparts.

The CEO, Satya Nadella, earns a modest $2.5 million per year, but after bonuses, his total compensation reaches $79 million. Meanwhile, Phil Spencer, head of the Xbox division, reportedly earns $10 million annually. Despite these impressive figures, Microsoft’s annual turnover has risen to $281 billion, solidifying its position as one of the top tech companies in the world.
