Microsoft Enables Customizable Lock Screen Widgets in Windows 11 Beta

Microsoft has released a new preview build in the Beta Channel, introducing customizable lock screen widgets. This feature allows users to select which widgets appear when they lock their PC. The ability was initially spotted in November 2024 but is now gradually rolling out to Windows Insiders.

To force-enable this feature before its organic rollout, users can download ViVeTool from GitHub and run the necessary commands in Command Prompt as Administrator. After enabling the setting, users can access Settings > Personalization > Lock screen to add widgets and customize their appearance.

Note that activating Windows 11 preview builds requires a genuine Windows key, especially for virtual machine testing. Microsoft has also acknowledged credit for the feature IDs, which was provided by @phantomofearth.
