Microsoft Improves File Sharing with iPhone and PC via Phone Link App Update

Microsoft has released a new update to its Phone Link app, allowing Windows Insiders to share files between iPhones and PCs more easily. The update adds a new setup dialog to enable file sharing, making the experience similar to Android device file sharing.

To use the feature, users can download the latest version of the Phone Link app (1.24112.89.0 or higher) and follow these steps:

– On an iPhone, share files using the “Link to Windows” app from the share sheet.
– On a PC, right-click on a file, select “share,” and then “my phone” to send a file from your PC to your iPhone.

This update is part of Microsoft’s efforts to improve its Phone Link app for both iOS and Android. Although the iOS version has been limited by Apple’s OS restrictions, this new feature brings it closer to Android’s functionality. However, file mirroring and iMessage integration still have limitations.

The latest update is available now for Windows Insiders and will roll out to all users in the coming months.
