Microsoft has released several updates for Windows 10 and Windows 11 in the latest Patch Tuesday cycle. The updates are available under various KB numbers, including KB5049981, KB5050008, KB5049993, and KB5050013 for Windows 10, and KB5050009 and KB5050021 for Windows 11.
In addition to the regular security patches, Microsoft has also released recovery updates that address a long-standing issue with the installation of KB5048239. The company has fixed this bug using a new update, KB5050411.
Furthermore, Microsoft has released dynamic updates for the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE), also known as Safe OS updates. These updates are available for all versions of Windows 11, including 24H2, 23H2, and 22H2. The latest WinRE dynamic updates include:
* KB5050119: Safe OS Dynamic Update for Windows 11, version 24H2 and Windows Server 2025
* KB5050200: Safe OS Dynamic Update for Windows 11, version 22H2 and 23H2
These dynamic updates are designed to be applied to existing Windows images prior to deployment. They include fixes to Setup binaries, SafeOS updates for the WinRE, and other content.
According to Microsoft, these dynamic updates will preserve Language Pack (LP) and Features on Demand (FODs) content during the upgrade process. Users can download these updates manually from the Windows Update Catalog website or obtain them through Windows Update.
