Microsoft Releases Windows 11 KB5051987 & KB5051989 Cumulative Updates

Microsoft has released the Windows 11 KB5051987 and KB5051989 cumulative updates, addressing security vulnerabilities and issues. These mandatory updates contain February 2025 Patch Tuesday security updates for previously discovered vulnerabilities.

Users can install the update by going to Start > Settings > Windows Update and clicking ‘Check for Updates.’ Alternatively, they can manually download and install it from Microsoft Update Catalog.

Key features of this month’s Patch Tuesday update include:

* Improved taskbar previews with enhanced animations
* A new feature allowing resume of OneDrive files edited on phones directly from desktops
* Addition of Simsun-ExtG, a simplified Chinese font with 9,753 ideographs

Other notable changes and fixes include:

* Improvements to File Explorer’s context menu and tab restoration
* Fixes for issues with search functionality, date and time properties, and display settings
* Resolved problems with HDR displays, USB audio devices, cameras, passkeys, power, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

As of now, Microsoft is not aware of any new issues. Users can check for updates manually to get the changes as soon as possible.
