Microsoft has begun rolling out a new Start menu for Windows 11 as part of the latest optional non-security update. The updated version, known as KB5067036, includes features like customizable layouts, quality of life improvements, and better app organization.
The new layout promotes an “all apps” list to the main page and offers two additional views: grid list and category view. Users can choose to hide certain parts of the interface if they never use them. The update also includes an improved Phone Link panel that shows more recent activity.
To access the new Start menu, users must have the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” toggle enabled in Windows Update. It will roll out gradually, so not everyone may see it right away.
