Microsoft has inadvertently leaked an Xbox UI mockup that suggests the company may be planning to integrate Steam and Epic Games store games into its upcoming app update. The image, which showed a user interface displaying Steam as a separate tab along with other popular services, has been removed but not before it was captured by eagle-eyed viewers.
According to sources, Microsoft is indeed working on an Xbox app update that will allow users to see all the games they’ve installed on their PCs, including those from both Steam and Epic Games. The exact details of this update are still unclear, with Tom Warren from The Verge stating that it’s in its early stages of development.
It’s worth noting that Microsoft hasn’t confirmed whether this update will ultimately ship or not. However, the leaked UI image suggests that the company is serious about giving users more visibility into their gaming libraries. With a rumored release date of 2027 for a new Xbox Series X/S successor and another handheld console expected later this year, it seems like Microsoft is making significant strides in its gaming ecosystem.
