Microsoft Teases Steam Integration with New Xbox UI

Microsoft has revealed early hints about its upcoming Xbox UI by posting a mockup image that shows Steam games listed alongside owned titles and action-adventure games on multiple devices, including TVs, tablets, and handheld consoles. The image was quickly removed after inquiries from media outlets, but sources indicate that the company is working on an Xbox app update to display every game installed on PC, including those from Steam and the Epic Games Store.

According to insiders, this feature may not be fully implemented in its current form, as Microsoft is still in the early stages of development. However, the image suggests how the Steam label might appear in the future. This could potentially make the Xbox app a hub for PC gaming, including games from multiple platforms like Steam and Epic Games Store.

GOG already has a similar system in place, allowing users to see their owned games across multiple launchers. The inclusion of Steam games in the Xbox app would further integrate PC gaming into the platform, and Xbox chief Phil Spencer previously hinted at the possibility of supporting other PC stores on Xbox consoles.
