Microsoft is ending support for Outlook Lite, a lightweight Android email app that was popular among users with lower-end phones, by October 6, 2025. The company plans to focus on its main Outlook Mobile app instead.
Microsoft initially launched Outlook Lite in 2022 as a more battery-efficient option, but later added features like multi-account support and SMS integration. However, the company now prefers to invest resources in its flagship Outlook Mobile app, which offers better functionality and user experience.
Users of Outlook Lite are recommended to switch to the main Outlook Mobile app for continued development and support. The Outlook Mobile app is available for iOS and Android devices and offers cloud storage services and Microsoft’s Copilot assistant, but users will need a paid subscription to avoid ads.
