Microsoft has announced its upcoming Copilot AI assistant for gamers, aimed at providing real-time guidance and tips to improve gameplay. The AI-powered assistant is expected to be available as part of the Xbox mobile app, allowing users to access helpful information and tutorials during games.
Initially, only a proof-of-concept demo has been released, showcasing capabilities such as recommending heroes in Overwatch 2 and answering Minecraft building questions. However, Microsoft assures that the feature will improve with user feedback and iteration.
The Copilot assistant is designed to integrate with game screens via app integration, offering real-time guidance. Although details on how this works and what information it can provide are scarce, Microsoft promises a seamless gaming experience.
Copilot for Gaming is set to launch in April for Xbox Insider members, with plans to expand access to more players once kinks have been ironed out. This development follows the announcement of the Xbox Play Anywhere program, which now offers access to over 1,000 games across multiple platforms, including console and PC.
