Microsoft Corp. has launched Microsoft Dragon Copilot, an advanced AI assistant designed to transform clinical workflows. The tool combines natural language dictation capabilities with ambient listening features and cutting-edge generative AI.
As part of its Cloud for Healthcare platform, Dragon Copilot aims to streamline administrative tasks and enhance patient care in diverse healthcare settings. According to a recent decline in clinician burnout, with 53% of US clinicians reporting burnout in 2023, compared to 48% in 2024, the solution is seen as an essential tool for healthcare systems looking to automate documentation, improve accessibility, and accelerate insights.
Key features include automated documentation, medical information retrieval, and task automation. Users report saving five minutes per patient encounter, with 70% of clinicians experiencing reduced burnout and 93% of patients noting improved experiences.
The solution will be available in the US and Canada starting May, followed by releases in Europe. Microsoft plans to expand Dragon Copilot into additional markets, reinforcing its commitment to supporting healthcare professionals and improving patient outcomes through AI-driven innovation.
