Microsoft has finally revealed its highly anticipated handheld console, the ROG Xbox Ally, in partnership with Asus. The device is set to launch later this year and will be available in two variants: the standard ROG Xbox Ally and the more powerful ROG Xbox Ally X.
The ROG Xbox Ally features an AMD Ryzen Z2A processor, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage, while the ROG Xbox Ally X boasts a Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, 24GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage. Both models will utilize Radeon’s software suite for improved graphics and performance.
The handheld console’s design is inspired by Xbox Wireless Controllers, with contoured grips and ABXY buttons for comfort and control. The ROG Xbox Ally X also features impulse triggers for enhanced gaming experiences.
Key specifications include a 7-inch FHD display, 120Hz refresh rate, and FreeSync Premium technology, as well as Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity. Battery life is provided by two large batteries, measuring 60Wh and 80Wh respectively.
The ROG Xbox Ally will be priced around $600, with a release date expected to coincide with the holidays later this year. Additionally, gamers can look forward to the confirmation that Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available when the console launches.
