Microsoft Warns Windows 10 Users, Urges Upgrades Before Cut-Off Date

Microsoft is urging Windows 10 users to upgrade to Windows 11 as support for the aging operating system nears its end. The cut-off date for Windows 10 support is set for October 25, 2025, after which security updates will no longer be provided.

As a result, Windows 10 machines will become increasingly vulnerable to security breaches and hacking. Despite this, Windows 11 still lags behind in market share, with only 34.9% compared to Windows 10’s 61.8%. In recent months, however, Windows 11 has gained users, albeit at the expense of Windows 10.

The latest figures from Statcounter suggest that millions of Windows 10 users are at risk of being left vulnerable without support. Additionally, many machines may not be compatible with Windows 11 due to hardware requirements. Experts estimate that up to 240 million PCs will end up in landfills if Microsoft’s hardware limitations for Windows 11 are not addressed.

Experts warn that it is essential for Windows 10 users to upgrade before the cut-off date to avoid becoming targets of hackers and to ensure their devices remain secure.
